What has been the best laptop you have ever owned? It’s a complicated question, especially since the world of laptops has undergone a very important evolution in recent years that makes evaluating each computer at a specific time and comparing it with other more current ones a rather difficult task.
The specialization of the sector, and the arrival of off-road models that offer an excellent balance between mobility and performance, has also complicated us, and a lot, to answer that question, but in this article I want to encourage you to remember with me all the laptops that you have had throughout your life and that, among all of them, choose the one you think deserves to be considered the best laptop that you have bought, or that they have given you.
As I always start. In my case I must say that I have not had many laptops because I always I’ve been more than using desktop PCs, although I have tried many equipment and I have a lot of experience as an analyst of this type of systems.
Throughout my life I have had a total of four laptops, and of them I only have doubts between two, the LG R200 and Lenovo IdeaPad Z500T. The latter is still on my desk and I must say that it works like a charm, it was a round purchase for what it cost me, as I already told you at the time in the analysis that you will find through this link.
What has been the best laptop I have ever owned?
The LG R200 is one of my favorite laptops for three big reasons: its design, fantastic for the time, its good balance between performance and mobility and its external screen. I’m not going to lie to you, when I used it in public places it attracted a lot of attention, and with it I could work and play undemanding titles, thanks to the Radeon HD 2400 Pro graphics card that had the version I bought (the most basic one had integrated). The performance of said graph let me down, but it allowed me to move games like Guild Wars acceptably.
By contrast, I like the Lenovo IdeaPad Z500T more for its excellent price-performance value. This computer had excellent hardware configuration when I purchased it, and It only cost me 619.99 euros. For that price I got a computer with a 15.6-inch touch screen and 768p resolution, a Core i7-3632QM with four cores and eight threads, 16 GB of RAM, a GeForce GT 740M and a 1 TB HDD. Yes, it has been widely exceeded, but it is still able to more than cover my needs, in fact it is able to move intergenerational transition games and current titles not very demanding without problem.
I have to choose the best laptop between those two, and although the design of the LG R200 still makes me smile when I remember it, I must give the winner to Lenovo IdeaPad Z500T. A few years ago I decided to mount a 500GB SATA III SSD on it and keep the 1TB HDD as a secondary drive, and the result was fantastic. The computer flies, and is able to move heavy applications and games without problem, as I have already said. For its value for money, and how well it is aging, it is clear to me, the Lenovo IdeaPad Z500T is the best laptop I have ever owned.
