Samsung smartphones quickly lose value. This also applies to the new Galaxy S20. After only a few months on the market in Germany, the price for the top mobile phone has already dropped significantly.
Galaxy S20: Samsung significantly lowers the price
Update from July 29th, 2020: The Samsung Galaxy S20 is currently sold on Amazon for only 649.99 euros. The 5G model is available for 100 euros more.
Those who prefer the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus can access it for 749.99 euros.
You only have to pay 999.99 euros for the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
All S20 phones are available exclusively from Amazon with a 3-year guarantee. So you are covered for even longer. The offer is limited.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 came on the market for 899 euros in mid-March and has seen a real drop in prices since then. After only a few days, the first offer was made, and you can now save over 200 euros if you look at smaller dealers. On eBay, a dealer only charges 679 euros for a new Galaxy S20 in gray. But not only the eBay retailers have lowered the Galaxy S20 in price. Even large companies like MediaMarkt and Saturn only want 829 euros. Amazon has moved along. There is a 3 year warranty instead of 2. After a little over a month on the market this is of course a massive loss in value – but basically also normal for Samsung devices.
In contrast, Amazon continues to require the recommended retail price. There you have to pay a proud 899 euros – although the price fluctuated every now and then. So something is moving there. Below is the price history of the Samsung Galaxy S20:
Samsung Galaxy S20: what makes the phone so special?
Samsung did a lot right with the Galaxy S20, as I found in the test. The 120 Hertz display, the new camera and high performance are impressive. You only have to make small compromises when it comes to battery life. We’ll tell you what the cell phone has on it in the following video:
In addition to the Galaxy S20, there is also the Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra. Both offer slightly better equipment, but also cost a lot more. The Galaxy S20, on the other hand, is a compact all-rounder that I personally prefer.
Samsung Galaxy S20: what’s next?
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S20 will continue to fall. There is absolutely no doubt about that. When it approaches the price tag of around 600 euros, the cell phone is a real price-performance hit. Then at the latest everyone who has been waiting should strike. GIGA will inform you when the price reaches this magical limit.
