Change of plans within Xiaomi Or, rather, in what we expected from the brand. On the occasion of the celebration of its tenth anniversary, it was speculated that the firm would launch its best mobile phone ever manufactured to date in the form of Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Plus. However, it seems that it will not finally be called that. And it won’t come alone.
As this screenshot from a Chinese store shows, next week both the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Extreme Edition As the Redmi K30 Pro Extreme EditionThat is, a top of the range premium with all the letters and a mid-range with great specifications that would be placed in the manufacturer’s catalog as the best Redmi smartphone.
Well, to be honest, the correct name would be Xiaomi Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition but it is too long and not very “marketinian”, so it is probable that, upon arriving in Europe, his name is plain Extreme Edition. Unfortunately, the Weibo poster has no information on the specs of the devices, but at least, from the top of the range, some information has already leaked.
While the Redmi K30 EE would be the same Redmi K30 Ultra that we talked about last week, the Mi 10 Pro EE, let’s call it that for now it would be the M2007J1SC model that was certified by the Chinese 3C authority last month and which also it has been seen by the AnTuTu and Geekbench test benches. From these forms we know, or intuit, that the best mobile phone manufactured by Xiaomi in 2020 can sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED curved screen that would have a small perforation to accommodate the front jacket. This panel could raise the ante and support a 120Hz refresh rate.
At the moment it is not clear if the phone would work with the Snapdragon 865 processor or the latest Snapdragon 865+ SoC but it should be accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and a storage of at least 256 GB. To this we should add a huge battery of more than 4500 mAh that would release the great virtue of this phone, a 120W fast charging system and 55W super fast wireless charging.
Regarding the photographic section of this Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative EditionIt would be headed by a 48-megapixel main sensor on its back, combined with an ultra wide-angle lens and a periscope zoom lens. Like the Mi 10s and S20s, it might be able to record videos at 8K resolution.
In less than a week we will know the new Xiaomi Extreme Edition. And yes, they sound like two McDonalds burgers.
