ZDF dementia choir sings for the first time today

The actress Annette Frier founded a choir for people with dementia in early 2020. The ZDF has accompanied the project for three months. As of today, the result can be seen on TV.

In addition to Annette Frier, the musician Eddi Hüneke from the Wise Guys is responsible for the “Unforgettable – Our Choir for People with Dementia” as choir director. The program wants to find out whether and how singing can have a positive effect on the well-being of people with dementia. The venture is accompanied by a scientific study, as can be seen from the information provided by ZDF. The choir also receives support from singer Max Mutzke, who provides tips and a private concert.

However, the format is not entirely new. The show is based on the British show “Our Dementia Choir”, which was shown on BBC One last year. The German branch accompanies the participants of the experiment over four episodes through the rehearsals until the end of the project and the evaluation of the study.

The first episode of the documentary series can be seen on ZDF this evening at 10.15 p.m. The other episodes always run on Tuesdays at 10:45 p.m. The program is already available online for streaming in the ZDF media library.
