ZDF grabs series: "The Bank Hacker" and "The Weekly"

ZDF has secured two new series at Red Arrow Studios International: the Belgian crime series “The Bank Hacker” and “The Weekly” on the New York Times.

As Red Arrow Studios announced yesterday, ZDF had agreed on the licenses for two international series: the crime series “The Bank Hacker” and the series “The Weekly”, which had already been licensed for Australia, Spain and Portugal .

The series “The Bank Hacker” produced by De Mensen for VTM (Belgium) is about the 19-year-old teenager Jeremy, who joins a team of impostors and commits a daring bank robbery. The money transfers between the banks are to be manipulated. But for Jeremy it’s more than money: it’s his chance to take revenge on the financial system that drove his father to suicide. He soon realizes, however, that his colleagues are playing the wrong game.

“The Weekly” is a new series by and about the New York Times, which is supposed to give an insight into the work at one of the largest newspapers worldwide. 1,700 journalists. 160 countries. 2,500 stories a week. In each half-hour episode, a New York Times reporter elaborates on one of the stories.

The series is produced by The New York Times and Left / Right, a company of Red Arrow Studios, for FX and Hulu (USA). A second season is currently in production.

It is not yet known when exactly the series will be shown on ZDF or a ZDF broadcaster.
